Beautiful irrigation farm near the Langeberg Mountain range between Albertinia and Riversdale which is for nearly a century family owned, is now available to buy.
The main farming activity on this farm is currently dairy, but the soil and water is excellent for citrus, nut farming, as well as sheep or cattle farming.
There's about 7 earth dams on the farm, all fed with running water through a canal from the mountains. One of the dams is on a hill, so you can pump the water also to this dam from where it will gravity fed. Due to this huge advantage, you can easily develop another 140ha of the current arable dry lands to irrigation lands.
There's currently about 40 hectares established under drag line irrigation, with a mix of lucerne, kikuyu, rye grass and oats pastures.
Two
booster pumps of 15 kw each are currently used for irrigation. About 10 ha of the 40 ha which are under irrigation is through gravity fed. There's also 2 boreholes, but were many years ago in use due to the fact that there is enough turn water from the canal.
Infrastructure includes a 4 bedroom living house that needs tlc, 60m x 12m open side shed, 18m x 9m closed steel store, 12 point fish bone milking parlor, 1 feed store, and 2 workers houses.
None of the workers have living rights on the property.
