This 1,470-hectare irrigation farm lies nestled in a serene, fertile valley surrounded by majestic mountain ranges. The nearest town, Montagu, is 58 km away via a gravel road. There is also easy access to the N1 via an approximately 22 km gravel road, and a 26 km tarred road, on the R318.

Farming infrastructure consists of neatly maintained almond orchards and chardonnay vineyards, as well as 35 hectares fitted with centre pivot irrigation systems. Another 700-hectare section is cultivated fallow land. The area is widely renowned for its quality almond production. The rest of the acreage is natural veldt where the shrubs and various grasses can be utilized by game or sheep.

The almond groves consist of 17,5 hectares of Soleta and Gwarra cultivars. The first harvest will be during 2025. The 5,7 hectares of chardonnay grapes are sought-after due to their quality and fruitiness.

An additional 35 hectares are good quality turf and sandy soils which can be used for cash crops, grazing or fodder for livestock.

Quality water is extracted only from 6 boreholes in use. In total 18 boreholes are registered. Water is also obtained from an earth dam with a storage capacity of up to 245 cubic metres. A 50kva solar panel system supplies energy to run the irrigation systems for the orchards, vines, and the centre pivots. PVC motherlines of 200mm are fitted throughout the arable land. The orchards and vines are covered by an overhead irrigation system to prevent frost. A double line drip irrigation system supplies water to the almonds (1.6/l x 0.6) and the vines (2.3l/h x 0.75), for optimum production in this dry climate.

Pumps powered by a 50kva system supply micro-irrigation from the dam to the orchards and vines. An ARKAL spring clean filter system with stainless steel manifolds, together with a GATOR irrigation computer system, with an automatic rinse and flushing system, secures reliable quality water for essential and efficient water flow.

The centre pivots consist of a 1 x 3 tower circle sprinkler watering 15 hectares, and a 1 x 4 tower circle sprinkler watering 20 hectares. There is a third centre pivot tower that is not in use.
A comfortable ‘hunters lodge’ is strategically situated, overlooking the valley and rugged mountains. There is also a fully fitted cottage and 4 staff houses.

Farm buildings are a large 420sq metre shed with concrete floor as well as a storage facility.

The enterprise offers ample room for expansion into other agricultural ventures.
